To establish the organisation on a firm foundation, we are currently identifying appropriate legal and financial frameworks for its registration, compliance, and operational viability.

Request for Proposals published on website and circulated

 

  • During this time, interested parties may email us with questions. - All received questions and official answers will be compiled into a single FAQ document that will be posted on our website and emailed to all interested parties.​

June 25th

Deadline for EOI

Submission deadline for Expression of Interest (EOI) Letters

July 4th

Finalists are notified of status

Official email to the selected firm; non‑selected firms are thanked and may be considered for future opportunities. Download RFP above for full timeline. 

Selection Criteria

Criterion

Demonstrated expertise in nonprofit registration and compliance across proposed jurisdictions, with a strong track record in multi-jurisdictional structuring, including but not limited to East Africa.

Weighting

50%

Track record advising non-profits organizations on cross-border grantmaking & financing.

30%

Demonstrated experience advising minority-led movements, including LGBTQIA+, refugee-led, disability justice, Indigenous rights, and feminist organizations. 

10%

Composition & qualifications of key personnel. Diverse representation on the panel of advisors. 

5%

Commitment to provide pro bono or reduced-fee support.

What is the purpose of this RFP?

This RFP invites legal advisory firms to support the establishment of a new regional LGBTQIA+ property rights organization focused on East Africa. The selected firm(s) will guide us on appropriate legal structures, multi-jurisdictional registration, grant eligibility, compliance, and property financing mechanisms.

 

Who is issuing this RFP?

This RFP is issued by Dreilinden, a German-based not-for profit.

 

Where will the new organization be based?

While the organization will serve East Africa, the legal registration may occur in a jurisdiction (within or outside Africa) that offers the most strategic benefits for nonprofit operations, cross-border hiring, and financial governance.
